Events in the Bibliomediateca are back with the series entitled MAGNIFICHE OSSESSIONI (MAGNIFICENT OBSESSIONS) Classic Hollywood melodrama. The series will open with a screening of John M. Stahl’s film Leave Her to Heaven. Introduced by Attilio Palmieri.

Monday afternoon events in the Bibliomediateca are back after the summer break with MAGNIFICHE OSSESSIONI (MAGNIFICENT OBSESSIONS) Classic Hollywood melodrama. The series will open on Monday, 12 September 2011 at 3.30 p.m. with a screening of John M. Stahl’s film Leave Her to Heaven. Introduced by Attilio Palmieri.

MAGNIFICHE OSSESSIONI (MAGNIFICENT OBSESSIONS) Classic Hollywood melodrama is a series of screenings and talks on classic Hollywood melodrama, presenting what is still a hybrid of the genre, with shades of the film noir and melò, and three familiar melodramas, made between 1945 and 1958. The series has been organised in partnership with the University of Turin’s DAMS college for the performing arts and the film club Sperduti nel buio, headed by Giulia Carluccio, which continues a committed and fruitful partnership into the next season.

This student group, which has been supporting the work of professionals at the Bibliomediateca since 2009, has undergone a natural, physiological evolution, handing over to other DAMS students their ideal, and continuing a partnership which has now become esteemed by the public and the Bibliomediateca itself with the same commitment and skill.

Thus the new group consists of film students Mariella Lazzarin, Roberta Pozza and Nicolò Vigna, supported and supervised by Attilio Palmieri, a member of the original group.
