Italian cinema divas
The National Cinema Museum presents an exhibit of photographic portraits of some of Italy’s most famous actresses, who captured and influenced the collective imagination of various generations of spectators from the era of silent films to today. From the first stars of silent films, in poses of melancholy seduction, to the unforgettable faces of the divas of the 1940s and ‘50s, all the way to some of the most representative faces of contemporary arthouse films, intense interpreters of modern-day feminine sensitivity.
The exhibit features 35 oversize photos and 37 posters which, through the faces of the actresses, offer a fascinating and involving view of film history. A true photo album, a full immersion to remember the extraordinary faces which made film history.
The exhibit includes two reproductions of precious original postcards from the era of silent films: Pina Menichelli and Lyda Borelli, two divas who played a fundamental role in the history of Italian cinema. All the photographs and the posters in the exhibit belong to the collections of the National Cinema Museum.
The exhibit is available to be set up in other locations.
