The National Cinema Museum will be participating in NOTTE TRICOLORE, with a free screening in Cinema Massimo’s Screen Three at 10.30 p.m. of the short film La lunga calza verde (1961, 24’), an animated film by Roberto Gavioli based on a story by Cesare Zavattini, which was recently restored by the Cinecittà-Istituto Luce. This is an extraordinary anti-rhetorical prize-winning cartoon which tells the story of the epic that was the Risorgimento, made for the centenary of the Unification of Italy.
Afterwards there will be a screening of Gianfranco Pannone’s documentary ma che Storia (What a story, Italy 2010, 77’), a bittersweet voyage through history, retelling the long and difficult path that led to the unification of our country, presented at the last edition of the Venice Film Festival and made with precious historical material from the archives of the Archivio Luce. Free admission.
