An open seminar entitled STARE AL GIOCO (PLAYING ALONG): Play in the era of videogames as part of INTORNO AI MEDIA (AROUND THE MEDIA): Exchanges and discussions

The Bibliomediateca hosts a new event on Wednesday, 9th February 2011, from 9.30 a.m. to 1 p.m.: a seminar entitled STARE AL GIOCO (PLAYING ALONG): Play in the era of videogames as part of INTORNO AI MEDIA (AROUND THE MEDIA): Exchanges and discussions, a series of talks organised by the department of Media History and Theory at the University of Turin’s Faculty of Literature and Philosophy.

Participants will include: Patrick Coppock (University of Modena and Reggio Emilia), Riccardo Fassone, Ivan Mosca and Ugo Volli (University of Turin) and Stefano Frache (videogame industry professional). Introduction by Peppino Ortoleva (University of Turin). Admission to the seminar is free.

A presentation of the Maciste: L’uomo forte box set by Claudia Gianetto and Stella Dagna, Edizioni Cineteca di Bologna, the National Cinema Museum, Bologna, Turin, 2009 and the National Cinema Museum’s restoration project, run in partnership with Bologna’s Film Archive.

The Bibliomediateca hosts a new event on Wednesday, 9 February 2011 at 8.30 p.m., presenting the Maciste: L’uomo forte box set by Claudia Gianetto and Stella Dagna, published by Edizioni Cineteca di Bologna, the National Cinema Museum, Bologna, Turin, 2009 and the National Cinema Museum’s restoration project, carried out in partnership with Bologna’s film archive.

Participants include: Claudia Gianetto (the National Cinema Museum) and Stella Dagna (the National Cinema Museum). Introduction by Gabriele Perrone (Brigate Irma Vep).

VOCI NEL SILENZIO (VOICES IN THE SILENCE) is a series of talks and screenings organised by the Brigate Irma Vep study group, directed by Professor Giulia Carluccio with assistance from Professor Silvio Alovisio. The group was formed with the aim of showing, reassessing and examining a seminal period in film history which however is not so familiar to the general public: silent film. In partnership with Turin’s DAMS college for the performing arts.
