Events at Cinema Massimo

The National Cinema Museum presents the retrospective entitled The outskirts of the soul: a tribute to Daniele Gaglianone at Cinema Massimo, who will be in attendance to introduce the film that opens the festival.
The National Cinema Museum pays tribute to Daniele Gaglianone – the Turin-born director of documentaries and feature films – with a retrospective entitled The outskirts of the soul: a tribute to Daniele Gaglianone, from Friday, 9 March to Monday, 12 March 2012.
The tribute has been organised by the 12th Piemonte Movie gLocal Film Festival in partnership with the National Cinema Museum. Thanks go to the ANCR (the national film archive of the resistance), the CNC (national short film centre) and Daniele Gaglianone himself for having loaned the films.
The retrospective will open on Friday, 9 March 2012 at 8.30 p.m. in Cinema Massimo’s Screen Three with a screening of the film I nostri anni (Our Years), the director’s feature film debut, chosen for the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs at the Cannes Film Festival of 2001 and winner of the Jerusalem Film Festival 2001 and a Sacher d’Oro for best first film. Daniele Gaglianone will be in attendance to talk to the audience after the film. Admission: 6.00/4.00/3.00 euros.

In conjunction with the exhibition Bugs, Daffy, Sylvester & Co.: The cartoons of Warner Bros., the National Cinema Museum presents The best of Sylvester and Tweety at Cinema Massimo.
For our latest date with Warner’s cartoon characters, the National Cinema Museum presents The best of Sylvester and Tweety, a selection of the best stories of one of the most famous Looney Tunes double acts, on Saturday, 10 March and at 3 p.m. in Cinema Massimo’s Screen Three.

In conjunction with the exhibition Bugs, Daffy, Sylvester & Co.: The cartoons of Warner Bros., the National Cinema Museum presents All Stars - Part I at Cinema Massimo.
For its fourth date with Warner’s cartoon characters, the National Cinema Museum presents All Stars - Part I, a collection of the funniest Looney Tunes adventures, on Sunday, 11 March at 3 p.m. in Cinema Massimo’s Screen Three. Admission: 3 euros. Free for the under 14s.

The National Cinema Museum presents Michael Curtiz’s film Casablanca on Tuesday, 13 March 2012 at 8.45 p.m. in Cinema Massimo’s Screen Three, screening a restored digital copy produced by Hollywood Classics. There will be a repeat screening on Wednesday, 14 March 2012 at 4 p.m. Admission: 6.00/4.00/3.00 euros.
