Cinema and Comics -  The National Museum of Cinema

Cinema and comics both thrive on words and images, while being two very different languages. Films involve spectators with the power images convey through  sound and music, setting the tempo of narration. Comics stand still on paper: the readers themselves have to generate their emotions, and can decide when to read, imagining the sounds suggested by the words in the captions and balloons, as well as by onomatopoeia.  In spite of that, the history of the two languages is intertwined, they chase &  imitate each other, embrace and seek increasingly  daring and surprising solutions, acting on spectators’ and readers’ awareness,  for instance, by moving the camera and working on film editing, or changing the shape of the tables and of the cartoon strips on the other.

The multimedia exhibition 'Cinema and Comics' highlights points in common and differences of movie and cartoon languages throughout the hundred years of their history, to understand  how comic strip language is somewhat objectified in film-making, although it exists also thanks to reader participation. The exhibition includes many movie clips directly linked to cartoon strips, but also examples of the opposite – where a movie becomes a cartoon. You can enjoy original tables, sets, the cels from animated cartoons, photographs and  props. Interactive stations will show other possibilities of interaction between the two languages finishing with an experiment where some film sequences are turned into cartoon strips, and sound is a balloon and an onomatopoeia. Football and Comics  - Juventus Museum

At the Juventus Museum, the multimedia exhibits 'Football and Comics' highlights the relationship between football and strips, taking a dive into the comic pages and  their heroes’ feats.
