Differently alive. Zombies, vampires, mummies, ghosts
Who's afraid of the living dead? The stories of vampires ghosts, of mummies and more recently of zombies have been a major ingredient of cinema, and of all forms of mass culture (from comics to videogames, from popular novels to TV series) all along the Twentieth Century and into the new millennium. The enduring success of these narratives is not confined to a single genre: beside horror stories of the undead as the extreme expression of evil, ghosts and more recently vampires have been the protagonists of many romantic and often heartbreaking tales, not to speak of funny stories and parodies. The exhibit curated by Peppino Ortoleva and the book edited by Giulia Carluccio and Peppino Ortoleva guide us in a journey into our fears and our fascination with the living dead, and takes us through the most mysterious of borders, that between life and what waits for us on the other side.
The exhibit is available to be set up in other locations.
