The rendez-vous for April with 35mm – the cycle conceived for the enhancement of the National Cinema Museum heritage on film – is featuring Kavkazskiy plennik (Prisoner of the mountains) by Sergey Bodrov.
Taken from a tale by Tolstoy, Prisoner of the mountains is one of the most intense and successful works by the great master Sergej Bodrov, who won at Karlovy Vary with this film and also got a FIPRESCI prize in Cannes. We are showing it again, twenty years after its debut in Italian cinemas, on a 35mm print from Les Films du Paradoxe fund kept at the Museum film-archive. The film is paired with some coeval trailers held by the Museum film-archive. First screening on Friday 1 April at 4.00 p.m. Admission 6.00/4.00/3.00 euro.
