THE KING OF COMEDY: CARY GRANT. The Monday films are resuming at the Library/Mediatheque.
Following the summer break, Monday afternoon screenings are resuming at the National Cinema Museum “Mario Gromo” Library/Mediatheque. Its September dates will be dedicated to one of the most beloved stars in classic Hollywood cinema: Archibald Alexander Leach, aka Cary Grant. The The King of Comedy: Cary Grant showcase will render tribute, through four extraordinary comedies made between 1937 and 1942, to an actor in a state of grace, perfectly at his ease within the clockwork timing of screw-ball comedy, and capable of acting performances which blend a sapient knowledge of his craft with the ironical lightness of one who is aware that the world is the stage for a big comedy, which can be lit up by a smile.
