Screening of The traveller. Tribute to Abbas Kiarostami with his first film, for the 35mm showcase.
Cinema Massimo – From 12 to 30 September 2016 – Screen Three
The September date with 35mm - the cycle conceived for the enhancement of the National Cinema Museum heritage on film - wishes to commemorate the great Iranian director Abbas Kiarostami, who prematurely passed away on 4 July.
For the occasion, the Museum is proposing Mossafer (The traveller): his imperfect, but already beautiful, first feature film, in which the twelve year old Ghassem Julayi uses all possible means, and faces a small adventure in order to get to Tehran and watch an important football match. The film is double-billed with Nanni Moretti’s short Il giorno della prima di Close Up (Opening Day of Close-Up, 1996, 7’, col.). Print from the Museum collections. Admission 6.00/4.00/3.00 euro.
