Crossroads is presenting the incredible "David Gilmour, Live at Pompeii" concert-film by Gavin Elder.
Cinema Massimo – from 13 to 15 September 2017, 4.00/6.30/9.00 p.m., Screen Three
The rendez-vous in September for Crossroads, the cycle dedicated to the stimulating mix between music and cinema, is offering an unmissable event for fans of this genre: the incredible David Gilmour, Live at Pompeii concert-film by Gavin Elder.
On 7 and 8 July 2016 David Gilmour performed in two spectacular concerts at the legendary amphitheatre at Pompeii, under the shadow of Mount Vesuvius, 45 years after playing there during the recordings of the historical Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii performance, shot by Adrien Maben. Gilmour‘s concerts were the first rock performances taking place before an audience in this ancient Roman amphitheatre. Now these extraordinary performances are hitting two thousand cinemas worldwide. This concert-film includes the best of both shows, filmed in 4K by director Gavin Elder. The show includes songs from David’s entire career, as well as the ones from his two most recent albums, Rattle That Lock and On an Island. Other solo and classic pieces by Pink Floyd are included too, like Wish You Were Here, Comfortably Numb and One of These Days. Gilmour has added the special performance of The Great Gig In The Sky to both concerts, which he rarely offers as a soloist. Admission 15.00/12.00 euro.
