TOTO' CERCA CASA at the Mole - Saturday 16 September at 8.30 p.m., screening of the film for his fiftieth death anniversary. Admission free.

For the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of Totò’s death, the National Cinema Museum in Turin is organising an evening dedicated to this great Neapolitan actor, in collaboration with the Piedmont Region Culture Department.

 

On Saturday 16 September 2017 at 8.30 p.m., within the splendid frame of the Temple Hall, the heart of the National Cinema Museum, Steve Della Casa will introduce the evening by talking about Totò through testimonials from his friends, including  Mario Monicelli, Steno, Age & Scarpelli, Sergio Corbucci and Stefano Vanzina.

Antonella Parigi, the Piedmont Region Culture Councillor, will be attending.

 

To follow, screening on the mega-screens of the film Totò cerca casa (Totò looks for an apartment, 1949) by Steno and Mario Monicelli.

 

“With this tribute to Totò, we are inaugurating a series of rendez-vous that will increasingly feature the Mole Antonelliana and the National Cinema Museum as protagonists” - remarks Laura Milani, the President of the National Cinema Museum. “It is our intention to enhance the Mole Antonelliana through these event-evenings, not only as an exhibiting venue, but also as the beating and crucial hub of all the projects involving the museum structure”.

 

This event is dedicated to one of the artists who has most influenced not only cinema, but our common cultural horizon” - states Antonella Parigi, the Piedmont Region Culture Councillor. “This is a rendez-vous which additionally represents the opportunity for an experience  in an unconventional context”.
