For the MAGNIFICHE VISIONI (MAGNIFICENT VISIONS): Permanent Festival of Restored Film, the National Cinema Museum presents George Méliès Cineconcert.
The National Cinema Museum presents the George Méliès Cine-concert on Tuesday, 12 April 2011 at 8.45 p.m. in Cinema Massimo’s Screen Three, a collection of works produced by the film director, with commentary and set to music live by Marie-Hélène Lehérissey, accompanied on the piano by her son Lawrence Lehérissey.
Just as the first silent cinematic projections were accompanied and commented live by a pianist who watched what happened on the screen from the stalls, in the George Méliès Cine-concert Lawrence Lehérissey accompanies on the piano a selection of films by the French master which have been rediscovered and restored.
Marie-Hélène Lehérissey, Méliès’s great-granddaughter and founder in France of the "Les amis de Georges Méliès - Cinematheque Méliès" association is the narrator.
The film is one of the screenings planned for the new and exciting season of the MAGNIFICHE VISIONI (MAGNIFICENT VISIONS): Permanent Festival of Restored Film. Admission: 5.50/4.00/3.00 euros.
