Summer 2014 at the National Cinema Museum
The National Cinema Museum will open regularly throughout the summer period, in addition, the Museum will see a special opening on Monday 11 and Monday 18 August 2014, with the following hours 9.00 a.m. - 8.00 p.m.
On the Ferragosto holiday of Friday 15 August 2014, the Museum will open regularly, always at 9.00 a.m. - 8.00 p.m.
Until 31 August 2014 it will be possible to visit the BEST ACTRESS. Oscar® Divas exhibition by curators Stephen Tapert, Nicoletta Pacini and Tamara Sillo. This exhibition is a tribute to the 72 women who received the prestigious statuette between 1929 and 2014 for the best female lead performance. The display features over 370 items, recounting the tale of great divas and actresses who left their mark not only on the history of film, but also on social mores, as outstanding icons of the changes in women's roles in American society over the whole span of the Twentieth century.
The exhibition will be hosted by the Deutsche Kinemathek in Berlin in the summer of 2015.
It will be possible throughout the entire summer to take advantage of the National Cinema Museum Family Special promotion, which features admission to the museum and to the temporary exhibition at the cost of € 9.00 per person for adults and free entry for juniors up to 18 years.

It is furthermore always possible to take the CUPOLA ASCENT itinerary, which leads from the ground floor up to the 85 metre high Panoramic Terrace, along the staircases inside the Cupola hull, by means of a guided tour to the architectural marvels of the Mole Antonelliana.
Tour duration: ascent and descent on foot, around 60 minutes.
Guided tours without booking (only in Italian) for groups up to 15 persons: Saturday, Sunday and holidays, at 12.00 noon and at 4.30 p.m.

During the summer period, the Cinema Massimo and the “Mario Gromo” Library/Mediatheque in via Matilde Serao will be closed to the public as follows:
- Cinema Massimo, from Monday 21 July to Wednesday 27 August 2014 included.
- “Mario Gromo” Library/Mediatheque, from Monday 4 to Friday 22 August 2014 included.
