For the ECCE HOMO exhibition. The image of Jesus in the history of cinema, screening of the film Nazarin by Luis Buñuel.
Third appointment with the ECCE HOMO film exhibition on Monday 15 March 2010 with the screening of the film Nazarin by Luis Buñuel.
Nazarin is the story of a passion. The passion of a good, charitable man, of an idealist. A Christ who has to face up to a harsh reality, because his message is destined to remain unheard. Father Nazarin fights with all the love possible to influence the situation, convinced, in the depths of his sincere faith, that he can change it. He is to be crushed by the arrogance of power and the superstition of the masses. Hated or idolatrised, always misunderstood, alone and useless. Presented by Andrea Mataccheo.
The film is part of the exhibition ECCE HOMO. The image of Jesus in the history of cinema held during the large-scale exhibition of the same name underway at the National Cinema Museum until 6 June 2010. The festival is organised by the Library / Mediatheque with the coordination of Silvio Alovisio (Turin University) and curated by the university film group Sperduti nel buio.
