A screening of the film La femme infedele (The Unfaithful Wife), introduced by Gabriele Rigola, as part of STORIE INSOLITE (UNUSUAL STORIES): a tribute to Claude Chabrol.
The second event in the STORIE INSOLITE (UNUSUAL STORIES): A tribute to Claude Chabrol festival will be a screening of Claude Chabrol's film La femme infedele (The Unfaithful Wife), in the Bibliomediateca on Monday the 15th of November 2010, at 3.30 p.m. The film ushered in an important phase in Chabrol's carrier, which focused on murder mysteries set in the well-to-do French countryside, a phase which continued for most of the 1970s. The detective story genre, which sometimes crossed over into film noir, as well as the theme of betrayal, were a pretext Chabrol used to feed his true interests: the gulfs that divide people in their relationships, the dark side of the typical bourgeois family and the unfathomable truths that lurk at the heart of every couple. Introduction by Gabriele Rigola.
