As part of CROSSROADS, the National Cinema Museum presents a premiere of the digital restoration of the film La Vallée, followed by the film concert Pink Floyd - Live at Pompeii.
The National Cinema Museum presents a premiere of the digital restoration by the London-based British Film Institute of Barbet Schroeder’s La Vallée, on Friday, 30th September 2011 at 8.45 p.m. in Cinema Massimo’s Screen Three, as part of its regular CROSSROADS evening. Afterwards, at 10.30 p.m., there will be a screening of legendary Pink Floyd – Live at Pompeii. The evening has been organised to coincide with the launch of all the British band’s remastered albums on 26th September. Admission: 5.50/4.00/3.00 euros.

LA NOTTE DELLA CATASTROFE (CATASTROPHE NIGHT) at Cinema Massimo. A film marathon to mark Torino Spiritualità 2011.
The National Cinema Museum presents its film marathon LA NOTTE DELLA CATASTROFE (CATASTROPHE NIGHT) at Cinema Massimo, on the night between Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd October, starting at 10 p.m. to mark TORINO SPIRITUALITA’ 2011, four classic B-movies about the end of the world. The evening starts at 10 p.m. on Saturday with Stanley Kramer’s On the Beach and continues at 12.30 a.m. with Roger Corman’s Day the World Ended. At 2 a.m. on Sunday it’s the turn of Ishirô Honda’s film Dogora, the Space Monster, after which, at 3.45 a.m., there will be a screening of Rudolph Maté’s When Worlds Collide, the film that will end our marathon. Admission: 4.00 euros.

The National Cinema Museum and the French Embassy present the festival entitled Je viens d’Italie celebrating French-Italian actors.
In conjunction with the celebrations of the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy, the French Embassy and the National Cinema Museum have organised the festival Je viens d’Italie at Cinema Massimo, from 1 to 4 October 2011, celebrating French actors of Italian origin who magnificently acted lead roles in films which have become European film classics.
This tribute will be a wonderful opportunity to see actors and films from cinema history on the silver screen, in their original language with Italian electronic subtitles: Jean-Paul Belmondo in François Truffaut’s film Mississippi Mermaid, Fabrice Luchini in Éric Rohmer’s Claire’s Knee, Michel Piccoli in Claude Chabrol’s Wedding in Blood, Chiara Mastroianni in Arnaud Desplechin’s film A Christmas Tale, Yves Montand and Serge Reggiani in Marcel Carné’s film Gates of the Night and Lino Ventura in Jean-Pierre Melville’s Army of Shadows.
The retrospective has been organised in partnership with the Consulate General of France, the Alliance française di Torino and the Institut français.

The National Cinema Museum presents Jerzy Skolimowski’s Deep End for MAGNIFICHE VISIONI (MAGNIFICENT VISIONS): the Permanent Festival of Restored Film.
The National Cinema Museum presents Jerzy Skolimowski’s film Deep End, screening a copy restored by the British Film Institute on Tuesday, 4 October 2011 at 8.45 p.m. in Cinema Massimo’s Screen Three. HD digital screening. The film will be repeated on Wednesday, 5 October at 4 p.m. The film is one of the many events scheduled in the new and exciting season of MAGNIFICHE VISIONI (MAGNIFICENT VISIONS): The Permanent Festival of Restored Film. Admission: 5.50/4.00/3.00 euros.

The National Cinema Museum and the DAMS college for the performing arts present HISTOIRE(S) DU CINÉMA: Classics from film history. John Ford’s Stagecoach opens the series, introduced by Giaime Alonge.
In October and November, the National Cinema Museum and the University of Turin’s DAMS college for the performing arts present a festival entitled HISTOIRE(S) DU CINÉMA: Classics from film history at Cinema Massimo, a programme of classics from the 1930s to the 1970s linked to DAMS’s film history course.
The series will open on Wednesday 5th at 6 p.m. with a screening of John Ford’s film Stagecoach, which will be introduced by Giaime Alonge. Admission: 4 euros (3 euros for university students and the over 60s).

The National Cinema Museum pays tribute to the comic genius of Blake Edwards with HOLLYWOOD PARTY, an extensive retrospective about him, in October and November.
The National Cinema Museum is devoting an extensive festival to Blake Edwards entitled HOLLYWOOD PARTY: A Blake Edwards retrospective. This tribute to the film director is a National Cinema Museum project, organised in partnership with Bologna’s film archive. Part two of the retrospective will take place from Friday 18th to Tuesday 22nd November.
Part one of the festival will open on Wednesday, 5 October 2011 at 8.15 p.m. in Cinema Massimo’s Screen Three, with a screening of his film The Pink Panther, a cult film from the 1960s. Admission: 5.50/4.00/3.00 euros.
