This Christmas, the National Cinema Museum presents the Italian premiere of Werner Herzog’s Cave of Forgotten Dreams in 3D.

 

During the Christmas period, the National Cinema Museum presents a must-see premiere. From Friday, 23 December 2011 to Sunday, 8 January 2012, at 4.30/6.30/8.30/10.30 p.m. in Cinema Massimo’s Screen Two, Werner Herzog’s Cave of Forgotten Dreams will be screened in 3D. Admission: 7.00/5.00/4.00 euros.

 

 

- MONDAY 9 JANUARY, at 9.00 p.m. – SCREEN THREE

The National Cinema Museum presents the short film Viaggio a New York 1961 by Ezio Gribaudo and Francesco Aschieri at Cinema Massimo with a live accompaniment by Supershock, introduced by the Turin-based artist himself.

 

The National Cinema Museum presents the short film Viaggio a New York 1961, a film by Ezio Gribaudo and Francesco Aschieri on Monday, 9 January at 9 p.m. in Cinema Massimo’s Screen Three. During the course of the evening, the Turin-based artist will present the book Ezio Gribaudo e Lucio Fontana. Cronaca di un viaggio americano (by Stefano Cecchetto) followed by a screening of the film Viaggio a New York 1961 which on this occasion will be accompanied live by Supershock (Paolo Cipriano and Valentina Mitola). Admission free.



- FROM TUESDAY 10 JANUARY TO FRIDAY 20 JANUARY – SCREEN THREE

The National Cinema Museum presents the retrospective King of Zen: A Tribute to King Hu at Cinema Massimo.

 

The National Cinema Museum pays tribute to King Hu – the greatest Chinese director of martial arts films – with a retrospective entitled King of Zen: A Tribute to King Hu.

The festival will open on Tuesday, 10 January 2012 at 4.30 p.m. in Cinema Massimo’s Screen Three, with a screening of Legend of the Mountain (Shan Zhong Chuanqi), an impressive example of the wuxia genre which King Hu was a master of. Admission: 6.00/4.00/3.00 euros.

The National Cinema Museum presents Roberto Rossellini’s La macchina ammazzacattivi (Machine to Kill Bad People) for MAGNIFICHE VISIONI (MAGNIFICENT VISIONS): The Permanent Festival of Restored Film.

 

Our weekly event for MAGNIFICHE VISIONI (MAGNIFICENT VISIONS): The Permanent Festival of Restored Film, devoted to masterpieces from film history, continues in 2012. On Tuesday, 10 January 2012 at 8.45 p.m. in Cinema Massimo’s Screen Three, the National Cinema Museum presents Roberto Rossellini’s film La macchina ammazzacattivi (Machine to Kill Bad People), screening a copy restored by Bologna’s film archive, in partnership with the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (Experimental Cinematography Centre) – National Film Archive, the Coproduction Office and Cinecittà Luce. There will be a repeat screening on Wednesday, 11 January 2012 at 4 p.m. Admission: 6.00/4.00/3.00 euros.
