The National Cinema Museum pays a tribute to the most irreverent of Italian filmmakers with an extensive retrospective named The truth in comedy. Tribute to Mario Monicelli, from Friday 31 August to Saturday 15 September 2012. The retrospective – a project by the National Cinema Museum and the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia-Cineteca Nazionale – will be inaugurated Friday 31 August, at 4 p.m., on Screen Three at the Cinema Massimo, with the film screening of Parenti serpenti (Poisonous Relations), a merciless and ironical portrayal of a lower middle-class family from the Abruzzo province. Admission: 6.00/4.00/3.00 euro.
