Mani in alto! Retrospettiva Jerzy Skolimowski (Hands up! Jerzy Skolimowski retrospective)
The National Cinema Museum renders tribute to Jerzy Skolimowski – a writer, painter and poet, as well as an actor and filmmaker, considered amongst the major representatives of new Polish cinema – with a retrospective titled Hands up! Jerzy Skolimowski retrospective, from Monday 1 to Tuesday 16 October 2012.
The retrospective will be inaugurated Monday 1 October 2012 at 4.30 p.m., on Screen Three at the Cinema Massimo, with the film screening of Deep end, a key work in understanding the least obvious and stereotyped side of that season marking a shift from the 1960s to the 1970s, as well as the artistic journey of this retiring Polish director, as brilliant as he is unpredictable. Admission: 6.00/4.00/3.00 euro.

Within the framework of the initiatives organised for the occasion of the 19th edition of THE HOLY THROUGH THE ORDINARY festival (18 September - 12 October 2012), Il Mutamento Zona Castalia association, in collaboration with the National Cinema Museum, presents the screening of the documentary My Reincarnation by Jennifer Fox, introduced by Claudia Picardi (a pupil of Namkhai Norbu) and Silvia Taborelli (CinemAmbiente Festival) Monday 1 October 2012, at 8.30 p.m., on Screen Three at the Cinema Massimo. Admission: 3 euro.

For MAGNIFICENT VISIONS: The Permanent Festival of Restored Film, the National Cinema Museum presents the film Double indemnity by Billy Wilder, Tuesday 2 October 2012, at 8.30 and 10.30 p.m., on Screen Three at the Cinema Massimo, in the HD digital restoration carried out by Hollywood Classics. Repeat screening on Wednesday 3 October, at 4 p.m.. Admission: 6.00/4.00/3.00 euro.

The Story Of Film: An Odyssey by Mark Cousins
The National Cinema Museum will host the screening of The Story Of Film: An Odyssey by Mark Cousins, the serialized film – produced by Channel 4 - dedicated to the history of cinema which was featured at the Moma in New York after it success on television, from Tuesday 25 September 2012, on Screen Two at the Cinema Massimo.
Admission: 5 euro. Concessions: 4 euro for Over60s and university students.
The third and fourth episode – each lasting 62’– of what is considered the most complete documentary ever made to describe the Seventh Art, will be screened on Screen Two at the Cinema Massimo, Tuesday 2 October, at 3.30/5.50/8.10/10.30 p.m.

HISTOIRE(S) DU CINÉMA: L’Atalante by Jean Vigo introduced by Giaime Alonge
The National Cinema Museum and the Turin University Humanities Department present HISTOIRE(S) DU CINÉMA, a showcase of the most significant classics in the history of cinema from the 1930s to the 1970s, introduced and commented by relevant professors from Turin University, during the months of October and November. The event will be opened on Wednesday 3 October 2012 at 6.15 p.m., on Screen Three at the Cinema Massimo, with the film screening of L’Atalante by Jean Vigo introduced by Giaime Alonge. Admission 4 euro (3 euro for university students and over 60s).

EVENT-SCREENING: Metropolis by Fritz Lang
For the occasion of the inauguration of the METROPOLIS. THE REDISCOVERED MASTERPIECE exhibition - by curator Paolo Bertetto, set up in the Mole Antonelliana from 4 October 2012 to 6 January 2013 - the National Cinema Museum, with the patronage of the Goethe-Institut Turin, presents the event-screening of the Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau Foundation restoration of Metropolis, made by Fritz Lang in 1927, Thursday 4 October 2012 at 9 p.m., on Screen ONE at the Cinema Massimo. Admission 7.00/5.00/4.00 euro.
