Until Monday 8 January 2018 it is possible to visit the great BESTIALE! Animal Film Stars exhibition, depicting the multifaceted universe of animals in cinema. Animals that have become true international stars, who act and often speak like their human colleagues, and who have been able to win over audiences worldwide.

Throughout the period before Christmas, the public is invited to decorate the large Christmas Tree, on the ground floor of the Mole Antonelliana, with photos, objects and decorations inspired by cinema and the Museum collections.

 

 

The activities offered for the public and for families from 25 December to 7 January will be several:

  • the History of animated drawing for children and families guided tours will take place every day at 11.00 a.m., as activities planned for involving children (over 4 years of age) and their families in an animated circuit, which will accompany them from the first experiments on motion and the most significant stages of animated drawing, through the collections of the Museum;
  • Discovering the Cinema Museum guided tours will take place every afternoon at 4.00 p.m., with a circuit offering an overall view of certain sections of the museum (Cinema Archaeology and the Cinema Machine), addressed to all.

Other special events are also added to the above:

  • On Thursday 28 December the Happy Birthday Cinema! guided tour will take place at 4.30 p.m. A rendez-vous to celebrate the 122nd anniversary of the Lumière brothers' cinematograph invention. A magic machine, capable of filming the world, starting one of the greatest adventures of modern times: capturing life, interpreting it, telling it;
  • On Friday 5 January the BESTIALE! Animal Film Stars guided tour dedicated to animals on the big screen is scheduled at 6.20 p.m. It will be the last chance to be guided through a discovery of the exhibition that recounts the multifaceted universe of animals at the cinema;
  • On Saturday 6 January 2018 a special appointment is programmed at 4.00 p.m. for children (from 6 years upwards), with the Vola vola la Befana workshop dedicated to the film set, where dreams come true thanks to special cinema effects.

The Library/Mediatheque and the Archive will remain closed to the public from Saturday 23 December 2017 to Sunday 7 January 2018 included. Services will resume regularly on Monday 8 January 2018.
