Summer at the National Museum of Cinema
The National Museum of Cinema will be open at the usual times throughout the summer. What’s more on three Tuesdays , the 13th, the 20th and the 27th of August and on August the 15th (mid-August Bank holiday) both the museum and the panoramic lift will be open exceptionally from 9 am to 8 pm.
Throughout the summer as well as the wonderful permanent exhibition you can visit #FacceEmozioni. 1500-2020: dalla fisiognomica agli emoji (FacesEmotions from 15000 to 2020: from physiognomy to emjois) curated by Donata Pesenti Campagnoni and Simone Arcagni, a large exhibition on the past five hundred years of history starting from the National Museum of Cinema’s prestigious and important collection. An emotional tour with masks and facial recognition systems that once again confirms how faces are the place where the human soul expresses itself.
There are also guided tours and workshops to discover the Museum, the history of cinema and film-making and the exhibition. Everything can be booked on www.museocinema.it.

Saturday July 20th and August the 17th
6 pm, a guided tour of the exhibition #FacceEmozioni. 1500-2020: dalla fisiognomica agli emoji (FacceEmozioni from 15000 to 2020: from physiognomy to emjois)
Science, technology, theatre and cinema: the tour focusses on how faces have always been the most important place for the human soul expression. The faces of the Roi Soleil’s first painter, glass for the magic lantern, emojis, acting handbooks, film close-ups, face recognition software and works of contemporary artists.

5 pm special workshop for children over 6 and their parents #FacceEmozioni – MagicFaces
Participants’ facial expressions take shape on paper to become games able to create new faces and new emotions. Project by the Liceo Artistico Cottini di Torino.

Throughout the summer the Cinema Massimo and the Bibliomediateca “Mario Gromo” in via Matilde Serao 8/A will be open as follows:
- Cinema Massimo, from Thursday July the 4th through Wednesday August the 28th 2019.
- Bibliomediateca “Mario Gromo”, from Monday August the 5th through Friday August the 23rd 2019.
