Le dragon et l’alouette. Una passione per il cinema

The National Cinema Museum presents an exhibit dedicated to Maria Adriana Prolo, the founder of Torino’s Museum, and to Henri Langlois, the father of the Cinémathèque Française. The exhibit documents their relationship, in which their professional life overlapped with their private life and their passion for cinema became the common denominator of two very different personalities.
In a parallel biography, the objects on view not only illustrate the daily life of these two essential people, but also their passions and their choices. Their encounter, their friendship, the realization of a dream to which they dedicated themselves with passion and devotion. These are some of the themes which the exhibit illustrates with striking, well-designed sets. The result is the portrait of a woman who was strong, passionate and modern, and of a man who was an emigrant, déraciné, whose life was marked when his hometown was burned and who thus dedicated himself to safeguarding a cultural heritage. Both of them were willing to throw themselves whole-heartedly into life and what they believed in.
The exhibit also features two books, “Maria Adriana Prolo” by Donata Pesenti Campagnoni and “Le Dragon et l’Alouette” by Sergio Toffetti.
